As a Research Fellow for Girl Reports, Grace was given the opportunity to lead and participate in exciting and rigorous research studies. Grace worked closely with Founder, Vanessa Martinez, and co-researcher, Sofia Johansson. Grace helped produce and present research at reputable conferences (ICA and AEJMC), receiving the chance to travel nationally and internationally. Beyond that, Grace assisted in identifying and applying for grants, as well as formulating assessment and evaluation protocols.
As a Research Fellow for Girl Reports, Sofia developed analytical, journalism, and mass communication skills through leading research projects that contextualizes the impact of Girl Reports. Sofia worked closely with Founder, Vanessa Martinez, and co-researcher, Grace Smith. She also aided in producing research projects which she presented at conferences such as the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication and the International Communication Association. Beyond that, Sofia sought out suitable grants, proposed strategies, and formulated grant proposals to help ensure the growth of Girl Reports.
