Rooted in Tampa Bay

Girl Reports grew out of Tampa Bay’s universities and its international community. Our founder, a University of South Florida alumna who has worked at both the University of Tampa and USF World, launched the organization with a founding board of fellow Fulbright alumni from USF and Eckerd College. That academic partnership continues today, with an Eckerd College professor serving on our board.

Our board also includes members of the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council, who bring deep knowledge of the region’s economy and workforce. Their perspective keeps our career readiness programs aligned with the skills Tampa Bay employers value and helps connect our students to the local business community.

The same global outlook shapes our founder’s community leadership. Her service on the boards of the French American Business Council of West Florida, Tampa Sister Cities, and the Tampa Bay Organization of Women in International Trade reflects a commitment she shares with Girl Reports: building bridges between Tampa Bay and the wider world.

As we have grown, we have invested in the leadership that makes this work sustainable. Girl Reports took part in the University of Tampa’s Spartan Incubator, and our founder has since completed the FSU Jim Moran Institute’s executive program in Tampa and Pasco County’s CO.STARTERS for Causes. We are also honored to be a CoHatch Give Scholar recipient.
