Research
Girl Reports, Inc. relies on important qualitative data to inform its strategy and practices. We also collect data as a service to our partners and a duty to our donors. Rather than collect, analyze, and publish data at our headquarters in the US, we believe in training and empowering local women to provide these professional services in-country. Especially for young women who graduate from our education program, the opportunity to continue building academic skills while earning an income is invaluable. Our goal is to support women who work on our research team, so that they can develop the competencies and the confidence to pursue graduate-level studies.
In addition to research required to support the Girl Reports organization, we seek to empower young women to be the historians, guardians, and social scientists of their own communities and traditions. As they gain experience working for Girl Reports, we hope to support them in the pursuit of their own research. In the near future, the Terai Tattoo research will be a first step in conducting a large-scale, multi-disciplinary project under the guidance of our organization.
