In order to operate, Girl Reports requires a variety of supplies, equipment, and ongoing services. Rather than procure these materials in the US or outside of the program country, it is our hope to empower local women to supply these needs. We believe that producing materials and providing services in-country will lower our operational expenses long-term and expand the impact of our program to the larger community. Our goal is to stimulate local economic development and place women at the forefront of this positive change. Particularly for young women who graduate from our education program, this is an opportunity to continue to learn, grow, and earn an income.
Our hope is to collaborate with local organizations to provide entrepreneurship and business management training, along with a small business grant and a production contract. This model would empower local women to manage their own, independent companies, while still producing materials for Girl Reports, Inc.
