Real work.
Global impact.
Career-ready skills.
Girl Reports is a Tampa Bay–based nonprofit dedicated to international education and career readiness. We use journalism education to empower girls in Nepal and prepare students in Tampa Bay for careers in a global workforce.
One Mission, Two Communities
Nepal
Since 2015, we’ve used journalism education to empower girls ages 12 to 18. While they publish their own news magazine, they build skills in English communication and computer literacy, and practice civic engagement and leadership. We then provide pathways for girls to remain engaged with us as local research fellows, and as aspiring entrepreneurs.
Tampa Bay
Since 2019, we’ve provided high school, college, and graduate students with global career readiness experiences through internships, research fellowships, and service learning in Nepal. Nearly 80% of our participants have come from Tampa Bay universities.
